~~ Dear Students: //BEGINNING WITH FALL 2011 STUDENTS// New federal regulations have changed the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy. In order to continue receiving financial aid, students must:

1. Complete a degree within a particular timeframe

2. Maintain a specific cumulative GPA, and

3. Pass a minimum of 67% of ALL credit hours attempted. (This includes all credit hours attempted over the history of a student’s undergraduate or graduate study.) This will include transfer hours and attempted hours. Attempted hours include any hours 1.) enrolled in or 2.) added or dropped anytime after aid disburses, regardless of whether they appear on the student’s transcript. ~~

Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO)

The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) is offering the Glenn Lygrisse/KACRAO Scholarship. There are four $250 awards available for the 2012-2013 academic year. The scholarships will be designated as follows; one per school type: four-year public, private institution, community college, and technical/vocational. These scholarships must be used at a KACRAO member institution (list of member institutions attached). The scholarship is not need-based and may be used in conjunction with other awards at the discretion of the Financial Aid office of the attending institution. Complete applications received by the deadline (March 9, 2012) will be considered for this award. Once the scholarship recipients have accepted their awards, an announcement will be posted on the KACRAO website (www.kacrao.org) and all students will receive a letter notifying them of the outcome.

 

To be eligible for consideration for these scholarships, students must:

  Be in their senior year at a Kansas high school

  Have a cumulative seventh semester GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale

  Have a minimum ACT composite score of 22 or an SAT-I combined score of 1020

  Submit a complete application (application form, essay, letters of reference and resume) postmarked by March 9, 2012

  Provide evidence of leadership experience
