Money Donated to Purchase New Football Helmets
Thank You Beardsley Equity Co-op!
Cheylin Schools accepted a very generous donation from the Beardsley Equity Co-op and RJ and Susie Sabatka. CoBank's Success Program was a matching contributor that made the total donation come up to the amount of $5,000. The Sabatka's, who have been life long Cheylin fans and supporters, currently have 4 grandchildren that attend Cheylin Schools. At the request of the Sabatka's, the money was put toward the athletic department. Even more specifically, they requested that the school spend the money to buy new football helmets. They felt that football helmets should be the absolute best quality and that the school could always use new ones. Concussions and brain safety are a very important topic in this day and age of football. The Sabatka's wanted to make sure that our student athletes are wearing some of the highest rated helmets that money can buy. The school was able to purchase a total of 13 brand new Riddell SpeedFlex helmets with the Sabatka's donation. The helmets will be worn mostly by high school football players, but also by a few junior high student athletes. If you see the Sabatka's at a game or out in public this year, please take a minute to thank them for their generous donation!
