Cheylin Boys Win Sagebrush Shootout Tournament
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Cheylin Cougar boys basketball team came into the Sagebrush Shootout Tournament as the number five seed out of eight teams. They defeated the number four seed, Triplains/Brewster, by a score of 62-31 which put the Cougars into the semi-finals. The Cougars then had to face the number one seed, Wichita County. The semi-final game went to double overtime, where the Cougars came out on top with score of 68-66. The championship game was set to be a battle of the Cheyenne County teams where the Cougars faced St. Francis. The game was well fought and went into overtime. The Cougars fought hard to win 57-51 to secure the championship.
Colton McCarty was named to the All Tournament Team. Logan McCarty was the runner up in the freethrow contest.
